Discover Waipi’o Valley
Nestled along on the Hamakua Coast in heart of Hawaii’s Big Island, Waipi’o Valley or “Valley of the Kings”, is a sacred destination with a rich history and unsurpassed natural beauty. The valley is the southernmost and largest of the seven valleys of Kohala Mountain, stretching roughly a mile across and surrounded by majestic cliffs up to 2,000 feet high. Within this tropical splendor lies majestic waterfalls, gulches bursting with colorful fauna, an alluring black sand beach, and Hawaii’s only herd of wild horses.
Waipi’o Valley was also the boyhood home of King Kamehameha I, and previously served as a major center for political and religious life on the island. While up to 10,000 Native Hawaiians called this area home in the 1700s, Waipi’o Valley currently has less than 100 permanent residents, creating a sense of community unique to this special region.
From the breathtaking black sand beach to one of Hawaii’s tallest waterfalls, countless wonders await...
